Prescription for Pennsylvania

Since Governor Rendell introduced Prescription for Pennsylvania last year many important measures have been implemented to address the quality, accessibility and affordability of health care.

To learn more about these initiatives click: Legislation or Executive Orders.

However, more still needs to be done, especially to ensure that the hundreds of thousands of uninsured Pennsylvania adults have the access to health care they need.  Recently, the Pennsylvania House of Representatives passed a proposal called Pennsylvania Access to Basic Care, or PA ABC. The plan is similar to Governor Rendell's Cover All Pennsylvanians proposal to offer uninsured individuals in PA access to affordable health care and make it more affordable for small businesses to provide health insurance for their employees.

PA ABC and other common sense insurance reform initiatives currently before the General Assembly will help to ensure all Pennsylvanians and small businesses will have access to affordable health insurance.  These reforms are the right things to do, the smart thing to do to lower cost for all, and the time to do them is now!  To learn more about ABC click here.
